On a beautiful sunny morning 20 Loopers gathered at Gates Park in Port Coquitlam. This month’s leaders were Diane and Fred. The group headed north along the east side of the Coquitlam River along the Traboulay PoCo Trail. The trail, named for a former mayor of Port Coquitlam, forms a 25.3 km loop around the city.

The path, shared by pedestrians and cyclists, was wooded with occasional views of the river. At several spots along the way we passed under bridges. After walking about 5 kilometers we crossed the river via a bridge at David Avenue and headed back down the west side. After walking a short distance, the group stopped at a pleasant sandy spot for a snack break by the river.

Continuing southward we passed many groups enjoying the sunny day by the river. It is obviously a very popular spot for the locals. We crossed back over the river on a pedestrian bridge near our starting point and returned to the parking lot.

For afters the beer bunch walked over to a convenient nearby watering hole, the Patina Brew House and BBQ. There we were joined by the Walnut Grove contingent. The coffee crowd went a little further afield, to Matteos Gelato.
